Out of all the equipment your office requires to function, the phone line maintenance
is probably the most valuable commodity as it provides a vital link to
your suppliers and customers. Without it, the business ceases to
function efficiently and in today's markets, customers will quickly go
elsewhere is they cannot find the service they require instantly and at
the right price.
Most
contracts feature an ongoing site inspection, in which a qualified
technician will assess the condition of the phone network and make
recommendations to carry out repairs and replace parts as necessary.
Many contracts include emergency call outs and an advantageous response
time to minimize disruption to service and ensure seamless
communication. Many maintenance companies offer a hotline facility and a
fast tracked service for replacement components. Interestingly, the
price of parts can actually reduce as the phone system ages, due to the
incidence of trade-ins and up-grades.
We
can identify where the fault is and repair/advise the best course of
action. If one hard-wired phone works but another doesn’t, plug the
working phone into the dead phone’s modular wall outlet. If it works,
assume the problem is with the dead telephone. Try plugging the dead
phone into a working outlet. If it works there, its cord or modular plug
may be making a poor connection with the first modular receptacle.
Switch cords with the working phone, and try again. If it works, replace
the cord.
